WHO AM I...
Hello, I’m Chris, but most people call me “Freaky”.
I am a young and creative photographer based in the UK – South Yorkshire.
I specialise in a range of photography covering boudoir, horror, events, content creation and all things FREAKY!
How did I get here?
I have been taking photos ever since I remember but over the years have transitioned through a few specialities which has now landed me here.
My professional photography first developed in the automotive industry, where I focused on “light painting” techniques to capture striking photos of vehicles. I photographed a wide range of modified and performance vehicles and was even published in the official Farrari owners club magazine. Overtime this work became repetitive and I was driven to find something new to sink my teeth into.

My next photography adventure consisted of photographing abandoned buildings. The chance to explore locations most people couldn’t find or access, untouched and unseen for many years, really spoke to my inner adventurous child. The colours and textures found in these hidden structures, fighting with nature, ignited my passion for capturing rich saturations and details in challenging environments. Through this phase of my photography I was published in a huge range of newspapers and ran an extremely successful page devoted to these mysterious locations. Having located and photographed hundreds of these places around the UK and even some select foreign countries the travel implications were becoming too time consuming.

The transition into model photography actually happened by accident! I was asked by a friend to photograph his wedding and thought I best practice photographing people. Model photography came with a big change in requirements, as my past subjects didn’t blink, move, or complain if I didn’t capture their best side. At the time I had a few alternative female friends who I thought would suit the abandoned locations, so as a soft transition I bought the two together. Ever since this first shoot I have had more and more people requesting my time. The more I shoot the more people seem to want to shoot.

With the name “Freaky Deaky” (which actually came from the abandoned building photos, purely as my last name is Deakin) I started getting more and more “out there” requests. Being very open minded and with my main focus on lighting and composition it didn’t bother me what was in front of the camera. My exceptional feedback and reputation has put me in high demand as a photographer who can be trusted, not only to capture exceptional images, but trusted with professional and amateur talent.
